Prasana Yoga: Creating Power and Grace in Yoga Flow
“Prasana” is a great word and it has dual meanings: 1) The “fulfilment” of asana (pra + asana) and 2) “to throw” (prasana). The potential of posework is fulfilled through creative exploration of the “throws’” that link yoga poses. This is a new way to think about yoga. It a new way to “systemitize” yoga–and it is extremely dynamic.
The principles of Prasana Yoga refine all asanas, transitions, and sequences in flow yoga. Prasana offers a new world to discover.
In this workshop we will:
1) Do 1.5 hours of strong Prasana Yoga practice,
2) Learn the principles of Alignment in Movement, and
3) Re-build our basic motion patterns in vinyasa yoga.
Those who take this workshop will learn the secrets behind applying force, using momentum, and playing with balance in yoga–among many other new skills. This focus on movement itself, and how the mind stays steady while doing it, will open many doors.
In the end, Prasana Yoga creates graceful movement in all activities of deed and thought. Prasana is a tool for the deep transformation of life.
