A Meditation and Pranayama Workshop at Prajna Yoga
Yoga has two pillars besides posework: breath practices (pranayama) and meditation (dharana).
Most people know meditation is a “magic pill” for relieving diseases of nerve-wracked lifestyles (diabetes, obesity, heart trouble, etc.). Some people understand that meditation calms the nervous system and breath practices strengthen it.
In this workshop we will explore poses (asanas) that open the hips for sitting, build the core to hold us erect, and loosen the chest to accommodate new rhythms of breath. We will learn 3 meditation techniques and 5 breath techniques.
We’ll take new approaches to this work, offering something to both beginning and advanced yoga students.
